Weekend World

Weekend World started producing and releasing music in the year 2000 and have been the driving force behind a catalogue of distinctive and distinguished releases ever since. As a classically trained musician it was clear from the offset that he had found a style of electronic music that allowed him to make the most of his technique and passion for writing infectious melodies. The instrumentation of his releases were matched by his production knowledge as he excelled in sound design and synthesis, producing the perfect sounds to showcase his musicality. A sound that favours variation over repetition, promotes musicality over predictability, using carefully crafted chord progression that contains emotion and movement. Always paying close attention to the structure and form of each track and avoiding the looped, recycled repetition of disposable dance music.

Weekend Worlds earlier productions played a crucial role in helping to make progressive house a prominent musical style. Support and high praise was received globally as both the label and artist caught the attention of the world’s biggest DJs. This attention resulted in a string of remixes and cemented a reputation synonymous with quality, melodic house music. Fast forward to present day and accelerations in production hardware and software present a fertile landscape of opportunity and you can expect Weekend World to continue writing, producing and releasing music.

Alexander Church

Weekend World

Alex Church lives and breathes Electronic Music. Shortly after leaving school Alex began working in his local record shop giving him open access to different styles of music and influences. Inspired by the abundance of new music coming into the shop, Alex decided to craft his own sound and in 2002 he set up his own label Midnight Recordings. The labels philosophy was to release music that would be listened and enjoyed in both club and home environments. Early collaborations with producer Phil Joyce under the guise of Celestial cemented the musical direction of the label. Later releases saw Alex take on various solo and remix projects which featured on radio and compilations, as well as being used by blue chip organisations such as Nokia for advertising purposes.

His music has introspective and transcendent qualities that invite the listener to escape in etheric soundscapes and infectious melodies. Always making use of contrast, Alex fuses deep driving rhythms with emotive melodies, lush chord progressions with bold sound design resulting in a sound that permeates the subconscious mind and captures the imagination.
